Badhusparken Mariehamn, Åland
The town of Mariehamn was founded in 1861. Since the end of the 19th century there was a modern bathhouse. In 1898 doctor Johannes Hoving took the position as director of the bathhouse. He soon rebuilt and modernized the establishment further. The number of visitors increased substantially and distinguished guests came from far and abroad. Together with Ytternäs school Kalmar County Museum travelled back in time on the 24th April 2002.
The celebration of Aurora Karamzins 92nd birthday in Badhusparken 1900 The year is 1900 and Madame colonel Aurora Karamzin has chosen to celebrate her 92nd birthday in Mariehamn. A great feast is arranged by the proprietor of the bath house, doctor Hoving, who is a good friend the Madame colonel. There are a lot of surprises planned with dance and music, displays and speeches. Doctor Hoving needs help and has therefore invited all the schoolchildren in and around Mariehamn to take part in the festivities and celebrate Madame colonel Karamzin.
